Accelerated Flight Training means that you can acquire your pilot's license faster than the average pilot. Some accelerated flight training programs note that it only takes 2 weeks and as few as 10 days to complete some programs.

But do these flight training programs make pilots better at flying?

For those pilots who formerly had some pilot training but just need a refresher training course the accelerated programs provide the back in the saddle approach that quickly brings pilots back up to speed with updated aviation systems.

However for those who just want to learn to fly as quickly as possible accelerated flight training can be a concern and here is why:

Pilots that have take accelerated pilot programs tell us that they often overlook important items because so much information was shared so quickly.

What happens is that instead of learning, remembering and internalizing processes over weeks and months, you learn fast and tend to process the most important items. While this is good, you tend not to internalize the process over a few days as you would a few months.

The accelerated pilot training programs are there to get you to pass your tests and flying. Rarely is there any follow up to ensure that you have the proper retention of the material that will allow you to become a better pilot.
